In May, the region of Emilia-Romagna in Italy was struck by devastating floods. The clean-up began quickly thereafter, however, several tourist destinations in Romagna have reported a sharp drop in arrivals.
As we have an office in the region, we witnessed first-hand the impact of the floods and the work to make the affected areas safe again.
To assist with tourism recovery efforts, we sent a group of travel content creators to the Adriatic coast of Romagna in July.
There, they visited places such as Ravenna (with its UNESCO World Heritage sites), Cervia and Comacchio and discovered touristic destinations unscathed by the floods. The content creators toured the UNESCO World Heritage monuments of Ravenna and visited the beautiful coastal towns and beaches of Comacchio and Cervia, also known as the Riviera Romagnola.
